THE PERFORMING ARTIST

Andrew Thomas Otwell is a Violinist and Composer which has studied and performed live music for over three decades. Mr. Otwell's compositions consist of Solo Violin, Accompanied Violin, Guitar, and Full Orchestra. Here is a taste of his first Violin Concerto opening statement, Finale movement.

He has performed as professional soloist and chamber performer and often times writes unique music for each individual performance. He studied modern violin performance under the lineage of Jasha Heifetz through the husband-wife team of Mr. Homer and Mrs. Doris Holloway. He also studied baroque violin performance under the direction of early music extraordinaire Dr. Lyle Nordstrom, Baroque Dancer and Violinist Julie Andrijeski, countless books and articles.

Mr. Otwell received music performance scholarships at the University of West Georgia and Clayton State University. While studying at CSU (the home of world renown Spivey Hall), he made several appearances as soloist, chamber player, and concert master. He also played in the first violin section of the Southern Crescent Symphony Orchestra for three years. To earn income, Mr. Otwell ran a successful music teaching studio for strings in Douglasville, GA. In this position, he operated the program for around 100 students per week and personally instructed 45 students.

Recent Events

Mr. Otwell has predominantly been working on music composition for the past year and continues to build his library. He currently has over 45 works which are ready for public performance. He also has countless snippets of material stored here and there and continues to make his way through the backlog of musical ideas waiting for elaboration and realization.
